  Overview: The Date Table

The date table is an essential piece of any BI data architecture. In order to analyze the data in your data discovery hub against various date attributes you need to have a calendar or date table that defines what these dates are. For example, If you want to calculate your sales for Q3 or determine if any products were manufactured last weekend, you need to define what "Q3" and "Last Weekend" actually mean. In the example above you can see the various attributes in a date dimension and how they add context around each given day.
