  Overview: The Modern Data Warehouse

The Modern Data Warehouse (MDW) is the portion of the data discovery hub that provides business users with one single version of the truth.

Through the denormalization, data governance, and historical tracking that takes place in the DSA we are able to deliver powerful cleansed data to the MDW that is easy for business users to understand.

As opposed to traditional star schema structures typically seen in an enterprise data warehouse, the modern data warehouse keeps the transactional header and detail in separate tables. This method allows for more flexibility during data analysis and data architecture changes. While the traditional data warehouse attempts to make a permanent structure for the business, the Modern Data Warehouse is able to remain agile an evolve with the business over time.
