  Overview: The Data Staging Area

In the Data Discovery Hub architecture, the Data Staging Area (DSA) is the virtual location where data is stored and manipulated before being loaded into the Modern Data Warehouse (MDW) or Presentation Layer.

The DSA acts as a landing zone for consolidating data from multiple source systems and a place where data can be standardized from these multiple systems.

In the following lessons, we create the DSA database, bring in the necessary tables into this database, and use this area to manipulate the data to prepare it for the MDW.
